Project Description
The project involves the dualling and improvement to bitumen standards of the existing road from the Thika road super highway (A2), at General Service Unit Headquarters, to the junction of Eastern bypass, at Taj shopping mall.

The total length of the project road is about 13 km, comprising a dual carriageway with two lanes in each direction, service roads, nonmotorised traffic facilities, interchange and grade separated junctions.

$130-million.

Duration
The project will begin construction in 2014 and is expected to take three years to complete.

Latest Developments
The African Development Bank (AfDB) has approved more than $120-million in financing for the Nairobi outer ring-road improvement project.

The AfDB will provide 89.8% of the financing for the project through a $115.9-million loan and a $5-million grant.
