Client
The project will be developed under a special-purpose vehicle by a consortium comprising Sembcorp Utilities and MMID Utili-ties to develop and operate the project.
Project Description
The project involves the construction of a greenfield 225 MW CCGT power plant.
The CCGT will include two sets of gas turbine units and heat-recovery generators, one steam turbine generating unit and associated auxillary equipment, a switchyard area, a cooling and a demineralised water system, and a wastewater treatment facility.
A gas pipeline will connect the power plant to an existing gas-receiving station about 1.6 km away.
A 230 kV overhead transmission line, about 3 km in length, will connect the power plant to the upgraded Myingan steel mill substation, located within an existing adjacent steel mill complex.

The project is estimated at $304-million.
Duration
Construction is scheduled to start in the first quarter of 2016 and scheduled to be completed about 22 months later, with commercial operations expected to begin in the first quarter of 2018.
