Mutiny appoints new board
PERTH (miningweekly.com) – Western Australian gold miner Mutiny Gold has announced a reshuffle of its board of directors, after chairperson Frank Lawson, nonexecutive director Paul Wright and nonexecutive director Benedict Kunsi handed in their resignations.
In March, shareholders voted to remove John Greeve as director.
Mutiny on Tuesday reported that Allan Brown had been appointed as nonexecutive chairperson, while Anthony James has been appointed as a nonexecutive director and MD elect.
Rowan Johnston has also been appointed as executive director of operations and acting CEO, while Kelvin Flynn has been appointed as nonexecutive director.
Mutiny told shareholders that the new board brought together a high level of experience and proven performance to successfully take the Deflector gold project from feasibility to production.
Brown has more than 45 years experience in the mining sector, while James has experience in developing and operating mines. Johnston also had a record of success in the transition of Integra Mining from explorer to producer, while Flynn was an experienced resource finance executive and investment manager with more than 20 years of experience.
The new appointments would be subject to shareholder vote.
A recently updated definitive feasibility study (DFS) into the Deflector project had reduced the projected start-up capital requirements by some 32%. The updated DFS had decreased capital estimates for the project to some A$62-million, while maintaining production output at some 80 000 oz/y over the life of the mine.
