Rounding off its management team, JSE-listed MTN has appointed Old Mutual Emerging Markets CEO Ralph Mupita group CFO and executive director. This will take effect from April 3, 2017.

Current acting group CFO Gunter Engling will assume the role of deputy CFO, reporting to Mupita.

Mupita, who holds an engineering degree and an MBA from the University of Cape Town, joined Old Mutual in 2001, prior to which he worked on engineering and construction projects in South Africa.

“We previously indicated to stakeholders that we are hopeful that the evolution and finalisation of the MTN Group senior management team will be completed by year-end 2016,” said MTN executive chairperson Phuthuma Nhleko in an updated note to shareholders on Monday.
