Mthiyane appointed ATNS CEO

Thabani Mthiyane has been appointed CEO of the Air Traffic and Navigation Services (ATNS).

ATNS chairperson Mpho Mamashela noted that Mthiyane has extensive technical and operational experience in all aspects of air traffic management.

“He shares the same values and commitment to our business and industry as our board and fully understands the needs of our stakeholders. He also has the right credentials and skills to take ATNS forward,” said Mamashela.

Mthiyane is currently serving as Civil Air Navigation Services Organisation Africa region chairperson.

He holds a BEng (Hons) in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Pretoria, a BSc Eng in Electrical Engineering from the University of Natal and a National Diploma in Electronic Engineering from Technikon Natal. 

He is also working toward completing his World Executive MBA through the George Washington University, in the US.

Mthiyane is a registered professional engineer and a member of the South African Institute of Electrical Engineers.
