Project Description
The Mohammed Bin Zayed plant will be expanded from 50 MW to 70 MW, making it the biggest solar PV plant in West Africa. The project will include a 4 MWh battery storage system to meet electricity demand at night.

The project is expected to power more than 222 000 households.

Capital Expenditure
The Abu Dhabi Exports Office (ADEX) will provide the Togolese Department of Economy and Finance with a loan of $25-million to finance the power plant’s expansion and the addition of the battery storage system. ADEX has also participated in the financing of the construction of the project’s second phase, with an allocation of $10-million of debt.
