Diversified miner Mineral Resources (MinRes) on Wednesday reported record quarterly spodumene concentrate production of 45 000 dry metric tonnes from the 40%-owned Wodgina project, near Port Hedland.

However, shipping tonnes fell by 30% quarter-on-quarter to 24 000 dry metric tonnes, as a result of unplanned port maintenance and subsequent congestion.

At the 50%-owned Mt Marion mine, production increased by 7% to 64 dry metric tonnes, with the plant expansion commissioned and continuing to ramp up.

Spodumene concentrate shipments from Mt Marion continued to increase, rising by 5% quarter-on-quarter, totalling 64 000 dry metric tonnes.

Meanwhile, quarterly iron-ore production increased by 8% to 4.8-million wet metric tonnes. Shipments of 3.9-million tonnes were impacted by temporary haulage and port constraints.
