Marley Roofing, manufacturer of high-performance concrete roof tiles, has commissioned a 3-ton SDLG LG938L wheel loader, purchased from the Babcock International Group, at its Ekandustria facility in Bronkhorstspruit.  Babcock is the exclusive distributor of SDLG construction machinery in southern Africa.

Marley’s Alf Bartosch, Factory Manager at Ekandustria, says after evaluating other equipment brands, a decision was made to purchase the SDLG LG938L wheel loader based on the value for money it offers. “We’re extremely happy with this machine, which definitely outperforms the capabilities of the unit we had been using previously,” he comments. Babcock’s Rob Baker, SDLG equipment senior sales representative, says sales of SDLG equipment in 2014 are following the same upward trajectory as last year and the company is seeing these multiple purpose machines being implemented in a broad range of industrial applications, including materials handling, mining, agriculture, cement, aggregates and tiles.

“The market is clearly recognising the many advantages associated with the SDLG range competitive pricing, world class quality, robust durability and reliable aftersales support delivered by a FTSE 100-listed UK company with a comprehensive network of local support centres,” Baker comments.

LG938L
The LG938L wheel loader is designed for optimum breakout force to ensure a full bucket load every cycle, improving productivity and efficiency. The machine’s long wheel base and high tipping load ensures that it remains stable even on rough terrain. A dust-proof design has been adopted for all pins and shafts, prolonging service life, while a patented hydraulic control mechanism makes operation efficient and reliable. In addition, an optimised seal structure applied to the entire hydraulic pipeline increases the sealing reliability of the hydraulic system. The radiator structure offers effective heat dissipation, while the air intake and outlet channel design of the overall cooling system effectively lowers water temperature in the engine and oil temperature in the hydraulic system. The unit is equipped with a fuel efficient Cummins diesel engine supported locally by Cummins and backed by a full Cummins warranty.  For operator comfort and safety, the ROPS/FOPS certified cab is quiet and ergonomically designed, incorporating air conditioning.

Recent introductions
In addition to the popular LG918, LG938, LG958 and LG978 wheel loaders, recent introductions to the SDLG range include a 16 ton LG9190 grader and a 12 ton RS7120 hydrostatic compact roller.  In conjunction with the new grader, the hydrostatic compact roller is ideal for municipal activities and general roadwork.
