The project is expected to offer better consumer choices and a higher quality of goods sold. Further, the project will contribute to the modernisation of the retail and service industries through the introduction of retail infrastructure, particularly in Niger and Burkina Faso.

The total project cost is estimated at $21-million and the International Finance Corporation (IFC) has been approached for an aggregate maximum direct financing of $7-million.
