LS-MFEZ solar photovoltaic (PV) power plant project.

Location
The proposed power plant will be built at the Lusaka South multifacility economic zone (LS-MFEZ), in Zambia.

Client
Bangweulu Power Company, a special-purpose vehicle incorporated in Zambia. The company is 55% owned by Neoen, 25% by First Solar, both of which are investing through Zambian Sunlight One, and 20% by IDC.

Project Description
The project involves the construction of a 55 MW solar PV power plant.

The plant, covering a maximum footprint area of about 52 ha, will require about 460 000 thin film modules from First Solar and 12 transformers.
