Project Description
The project involves the construction of an LPG carrier, 230 m long and 36.6 m wide, with a draft of 11.1 m, a gross tonnage of 48 300 t and deadweight tonnage of 51 100 t. The ship can carry up to 83 000 m3 of LPG.
The carrier’s unique hull design and other features will provide it with superlative fuel efficiency and adaptability to the diverse connecting conditions of the world’s LPG systems.
The ship will also be equipped with the industry’s most advanced systems, including mooring arrangement, to allow for passage through the newly expanding Panama Canal, which is expected to become operable in the first half of 2016.

Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Shipbuilding, a subsidiary of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI), received an order from Astomos for the LPG carrier this month.
The new ship is in addition to the four ships previously ordered by Astomos.
