Project Description
The project will be one of the biggest private offtake solar PV facilities of its kind in Africa.

Phase 1 involves the construction of a 70 MW solar PV plant to supply Exxaro’s Grootegeluk coal mine, which will result in a 36% reduction in the mine’s Scope 2 emissions when all power generated is used.

In Phase 2 storage is expected to be added.

The project will be designed for future expansion.
