PERTH (miningweekly.com) – ASX-listed Latin Resources has reported a 207-million-tonne maiden inferred resource estimate for the Noombenberry kaolin/halloysite project, in Western Australia.

“We are thrilled to have identified this globally significant kaolin/halloysite resource within only 18 months since acquiring the Noombenberry project. It really puts us on the map in this emerging sector and provides a remarkable opportunity to potentially push Latin from explorer to producer in a brief period,” said Latin exploration manager Tony Greenaway.

He noted that the company would start the next round of drilling at the project in July this year, with the dual focus of both uplifting the current resource to indicated and measured status, and to grow the resource.

The Noombenberry project covers some 560 km2 of tenement, and Latin has named its first deposit the Cloud Nine deposit.
