KWE In Support Of Conservation In Action

Kintetsu World Express has added their voice in full support of Endangered Wildlife Trust and their rhino orphanage project.
Following the plight of many rhino calves orphaned as a result of the debilitating poaching of our rhinos in South Africa and neighbouring states, an emergency response project and support network was brought about by EWT. The Rhino Orphanage, under the care of internationally recognized expert Karen Trendler, assists with the swift recovery of the calves, stabilizing, treatment and caring by professional staff.
making each rhino calf count
Says Trendler: “our fast, skillful approach, executed by individuals with the necessary expertise means that the calves stand a much better chance of surviving and being successfully rehabilitated back into the wild. Recently, in a ground breaking move to halt the relentless poaching, EWT has partnered with Education for Nature – Vietnam (ENV), a non-profit NGO to develop a hard hitting rhino protection campaign for countries where rhino horn is in great demand. The joint venture marks the first formal co-operation between ENV and a South African organization mutually committed to ending the killing of rhinos.”
our endangered wildlife cannot be recycled
“Beyond KWE’s broader range of environmental measures, including the 3R’s [reduce, reuse and recycle], we are increasingly involved in wildlife preservation. It’s not only our carbon footprints that concern us” says company director, Richard Szabo. “When we first learnt about the compelling story of Ntombi’s survival against all expectations, our company donated a contribution towards urgent emergency medicine supplies.”
He concludes: “Locally and abroad, KWE has made great strides in lessening the ecological impact of our widespread freight operations. A cleaner environment however, would be poorer without our precious wildlife. We aim to increase our involvement by raising more funds for rhino orphan care and protection. Because at KWE, we know that in conservation, as in logistics, time is of the essence.”
