Brief Description
Kouroussa is forecast to be a high-grade, low-cost mine that will produce an average of 100 000 oz/y over an initial seven-year life-of-mine.
Brief History
Kouroussa was acquired in September 2020, with Hummingbird granted the mining licences by the Guinea government in May 2021. The mine achieved its first gold pour on June 8, 2023.

Geology/Mineralisation
Birimian greenstone sequences have been identified in all Kouroussa’s permits.
Reserves
Total mineral reserves as at June 30, 2022, were estimated at 4.86-million tonnes grading 4.15 g/t gold.
Resources
Total mineral resources as at June 30, 2022, were estimated at 12.37-million tonnes grading 3.02 g/t gold.

The mine includes a permanent mine camp, a one-million-tonne-a year carbon-in-leach processing plant and surrounding infrastructure, tailings storage facility, a proposed 7 MW solar photovoltaic system and heat recovery system.
Prospects
Significant exploration potential exists at depth beneath the mine’s Koekoe and Kinkine deposits, with several other high-priority targets identified for further exploration and resource growth potential.
