Exploration company Kodiak Copper has temporarily halted drilling at its MPD copper/gold porphyry project, in southern British Columbia, as a precautionary measure owing to the wildfire situation.

“There is nothing more important than the health and safety of our employees and contractors, consequently we have taken the prudent decision to suspend our drill programme at the MPD project until the wildfire situation in the local area improves,” says president and CEO Claudia Tornquist.

“ Our thoughts are with all those affected or threatened by the fires. I sincerely hope that the lower temperatures and forecasted rain over the next couple of days will help improve the fire situation and bring some relief to the local communities.”

The does not expect a material impact on its fully funded drill pogramme at MPD.
