Alan Knott-Craig has returned to South Africa’s third-largest mobile operator Cell C as an executive board member, as acting CEO Jose Dos Santos assumes the role on a permanent basis.

“Alan has made a remarkable recovery since he suffered a stroke in November last year and has officially been back at the company since May 5 [Monday],” Cell C chairperson Mohammed Hariri said in a statement on Thursday.

Knott-Craig would consult and advise on matters relating to Cell C and parent company Oger Telecom Group.
