Kirkland Lake beats 2016 cost guidance

JOHANNESBURG (miningweekly.com) – Canadian miner Kirkland Lake Gold has beaten its operating cost and all-in sustaining cost (AISC) guidance for 2016.

Preliminary results show an operating cost of $575/oz and an AISC of $920/oz for the year ended December 31, compared with its forecast operating cost guidance of $600/oz to $650/oz and its AISC guidance of between $1 000/oz and $1 050/oz.

Kirkland Lake expects to report gold sales of 329 489 oz at an average realised price of $1 235/oz for the period under review.

For 2017, operating costs are expected to be between $625/oz and $675/oz and AISC between $950/oz and $1 000/oz.
