Project Description
The 96-turbine Kilgallioch wind farm will be located south of Barrhill, in south-west Scotland. The project will have an operational capacity of up to 288 MW, which could meet the yearly electricity demands of more than 170 000 homes.
Value
The project will cost more than £400-million to develop.
Duration
SPR aims to start work on the project in either late 2014 or early 2015 and complete it within about 24 months.
Latest Developments
SPR received consent from the Scottish government in February to construct the wind farm.
