The Johannesburg Development Agency (JDA), which is the City of Johannesburg’s implementing agent, has appointed Mokgema Mongane as CEO for five years, with effect from August 5.
“With this appointment, we are confident that the JDA is on the right path to fulfilling its mission of planning, implementing, managing and facilitating area-based developments in efficient, equitable, sustainable and innovative ways,” JDA chairperson Lionel Brenner says.
The JDA describes Mongane as a decisive and focused professional who brings industry experience and strategic and leadership skills to the agency.
He holds an MBA from Regenesys, a master’s in Engineering Management from the University of Pretoria and a BSc Honours in Civil Engineering from the University of the Witwatersrand.
Before joining the JDA, Mongane was Transnet capital development and assurance GM and industry regulator Council for the Built Environment COO.
The JDA plays a role in the implementation of the Growth and Development Strategy of the City of Johannesburg. The JDA manages and facilitates developments efficiently to build an equitable, sustainable and resilient city.
The JDA strategically facilitates area-based improvements in line with the city development vision and objectives, says Brenner.
