The Johannesburg Development Agency (JDA), which is the City of Johannesburg’s implementing agent, has appointed Mokgema Mongane as CEO for five years, with effect from August 5.

“With this appointment, we are confident that the JDA is on the right path to fulfilling its mission of planning, implementing, managing and facilitating area-based developments in efficient, equitable, sustainable and innovative ways,” JDA chairperson Lionel Brenner says.

The JDA describes Mongane as a decisive and focused professional who brings industry experience and strategic and leadership skills to the agency.

He holds an MBA from Regenesys, a master’s in Engineering Management from the University of Pretoria and a BSc Honours in Civil Engineering from the University of the Witwatersrand.

The JDA strategically facilitates area-based improvements in line with the city development vision and objectives, says Brenner.
