Industry body the Construction and Mining Equipment Suppliers Association (Conmesa) will be exhibiting at mining and construction trade fair BAUMA CONEXPO AFRICA 2015, which will be held at the Johannesburg Expo Centre from September 15 to 18.

“Conmesa was closely involved with South Africa’s first bauma Africa event in 2013 and, as the principal supporter of BAUMA CONEXPO AFRICA 2015, we are looking forward to another highly successful show,” says Conmesa chairperson Stefan Otto.

He adds it is the largest industry event for the construction and mining machinery industry, attracting key players worldwide. “This year’s event will not only showcase equipment, leading technology and industry trends – available from South African and international companies – but will also introduce exhibitors and welcome visitors from across the borders, including Kenya, Tanzania, Mozambique, Botswana, Angola and Namibia.”

Otto says an international trade fair of this stature provides important growth opportunities for Africa’s construction and mining sectors, which “certainly need a boost”.

BAUMA CONEXPO AFRICA 2015 will provide the forum for more than 600 companies to display and demonstrate a wide range of equipment, including equipment for construction, building materials and mining machinery, as well as construction vehicles.

A highlight of this year’s fair is the hosting of builders association Master Builders South Africa’s (MBSA’s) yearly congress. The alignment of the 110th MBSA congress with the event offers the opportunity for delegates, exhibitors and visitors to the show to network and develop new ideas that will bolster the continent’s growth potential.

New exhibitors this year include original-equipment manufacturers Barloworld Equipment, Case Construction Equipment, Deutz Dieselpower, MTU, New Holland Construction, Scania, Ulma and WACO. Bell Equipment, which participated in the 2013 event, has significantly increased the size of its stand, says Otto.

On the international front, companies from China, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, North America, Spain, the UK and the Walloon region of Belgium will exhibit.
