Project Description
Nampower proposes to buy power from three IPP-run solar PV energy facilities to reduce its reliance on power imports as part of its security of supply plan.

The power will be generated from three individual solar PV energy facilities at three separate locations in Namibia – Mariental, Omaruru and Okahandja.

The proposed facilities will each generate 10 MW and each location will cover about 35 ha, dependent on final design. The selected IPP or IPPs will build, own and operate each facility on sites owned by the State.
