Implats buys back another 17.29% of bonds

South African platinum miner Impala Platinum (Implats) has bought back 56 192 bonds due in 2022, representing 17.29% in principal value of the bonds,.

Bonds bought back so far amount to R561.9-million, with all repurchased bonds to be cancelled and no longer listed on the JSE.

Implats on April 28 confirmed that it would continue to pursue its goal of proactive balance sheet management within its approved capital allocation framework in a prudent and responsible manner and that it would continue to explore opportunities to buy back bonds subject to market conditions.
