Name and Location
IJmuiden sea lock public–private partnership project, the Netherlands.
Client
Rijkswaterstaat (Dutch Highways and Waterways Agency).
Project Description
The project involves the replacement of the northern lock at IJmuiden. The lock will be replaced by a new 70-m-wide, 500-m-long, 18-m-deep lock system to ensure that the Amsterdam port area remains accessible for the new generation of medium-sized vessels.

Duration
Construction is expected to start in early 2016, with the new lock available for shipping by the end of 2019.
