Project Description
The project involves the construction of a 206 MW hydroelectric project in the state of Punjab.
The project comprises seven hydrogenerator sets, located in two powerhouses. Powerhouse 1 comprises three 33 MW generators and Powerhouse 2 comprises three 33 MW generators and one 8 MW generator. The project will be built on the canal from Shahpurkandi barrage to Madhopur headworks, downstream of the existing Ranjit Sagar dam. The water released by the Ranjit Sagar dam will be used to generate power.
