Hybrid truck body launched

25th June 2019

Font size: - +

A hybrid truck body that combines the benefits of rubber and high structural strength steel, has been launched. The truck body promises increased payload and wear life, enabling mines and quarries to haul heavier loads, using lighter trucks.

The truck body is a lightweight, rubber-lined tray designed for off-highway trucks. The elastic rubber absorbs the energy of every impact, preventing it from reaching the frame. This allows for a lighter-than-usual, high structural strength steel frame beneath the rubber and a truck body that can absorb maximum shock at the lowest possible weight.

Advantages of using rubber linings for haul trucks include reduced maintenance, increased lining wear-life, reduced noise pollution and decreased vibrations.

The rubber lining and high structural strength steel frame of the Metso Truck Body offers a light and durable solution. A weight of about 20-30% less than a traditional steel-lined truck body, allows for an increased payload.

The truck body is available globally for off-highway trucks used in mining and quarrying. Several lining options are available for various applications.
