Information and communications technology (ICT) solutions provider Huawei this week appointed Wilson Liu as the new CEO of Huawei South Africa.

The former Huawei Oman and Huawei United Arab Emirates CEO would be tasked with driving a market development strategy for South Africa’s rapidly changing local market ecosystem and expanding Huawei’s three core business groups, namely carrier networks, enterprise business products and solutions and consumer devices.

Lui, who joined the company in 2000, would advance one of Huawei’s aim of increasing the localisation rate in the market in which it operates.

“Huawei is committed to contributing to South Africa’s ICT industry as a local partner and long-term investor by collaborating with local vendors and suppliers across the industry value-chain,” he said.
