PERTH (miningweekly.com) – Junior explorer Horseshoe Metals has doubled its ground holding at the Kumarina copper project, in Western Australia.

The ASX-listed company reported on Friday that it had been granted a new exploration licence at Kumarina, consisting of 69 sub-blocks, covering a total 215 km2.

The exploration licence would be valid for a five-year period, and expanded the Kumarina project area to some 432 km2.

The Kumarina project currently has a total measured, indicated and inferred resource of 835 000 t, at 1.3% copper for 10 600 t of copper at its Rinaldi prospect.

Horseshoe told shareholders that initial exploration at the new licence area would consist of a review of previous exploration work and geological and geophysical survey information, ahead of an on-ground reconnaissance and sampling programme.
