The range of geo measuring systems from Germany-based DMT group is said to offer quality, functionality and practicality. Designed to withstand harsh conditions in the field, the high-precision devices are said to be robust, delivering maximum accuracy and data quality.

The DMT portfolio of measuring systems includes:

  • Geodetic measuring systems: GYROMAT 3000/5000 and laser scanner IMAGER 5006EX
  • Geophysical measurement systems: SUMMIT - seismic data acquisition system and borehole shuttle, RESECS
  • Geotechnical measuring systems: CoreScan system, SlimBoreholeScanner

The GYROMAT is particularly suited for accurate shaft measurements, but can also be used in applications in the civil engineering sector. It is said to be the highest precision gyroscope sensor for determining and checking direction and can be used quickly and reliably even in geographically and topographically challenging terrain and under difficult conditions.

DMT says its IMAGER 5006EX is the first ATEX-certified survey laser scanner. Developed for safe data acquisition and remote sensing in demanding, high-risk environments. Its high measurement speed, remote operability and interchangeable battery make it particularly suitable for difficult operating points.

The SUMMIT range of seismographs is designed to provide information for construction or exploration projects, offering a modular measuring system for various tasks in active seismic exploration and passive seismic monitoring for the measurement of vibrations. Features of the measuring devices include flexibility of use and ease of operation, especially for challenging field applications. They are said to transmit data reliably, quickly and of the highest quality.

DMT’s RESECS resistivity meter is used for resistivity measurements on land from the surface in boreholes or marine resistivity surveys. The company says its robust design allows for flexible operation under various conditions and the high data acquisition rate delivers fast and reliable results.

The DMT CoreScan3 generates high resolution images of drill core samples, either in the 360° mode resulting in a detailed, unwrapped full circumference image of the drill core, or in the plane mode resulting in a detailed overview image of the drill core or an entire core box.

The configuration of the CoreScan3, equipped with a dust and splash waterproof trilinear line scan camera, is designed for image resolutions ranging between 5pix/mm in the low resolution, 10pix/mm in the standard resolution, and 40pix/mm in the high resolution.

The CoreScan3 can be mobilised to the drill site or to a central core store, to scan the drill core before it is sampled or undergoes destructive analysis. The original conditions of the drill core can therefore be preserved for further evaluation prior to core handling, logging, sampling and destructive analysis. The unit can also be used for an existing inventory of drill core.
