A new premium series of high-performance centrifugal pumps characterised by a robust design, promises superior operational reliability and application flexibility.

Tapflo’s CTX high-performance centrifugal pump design aims to ensure that the series can be adapted to a range of applications and process conditions, providing greater flexibility with quick and easy upgrade options. In addition, interchangeability of parts between different pump types and sizes, helps to improve ease of maintenance.

A central feature of the Tapflo CTX design is the multi-facet open impeller which can be optimised to suit each medium and application, while maintaining the ability to transfer viscous products, particularly those with an increased solids content. Another key feature is the option of a double mechanical seal that has no contact with the pumped liquid and is lubricated by a barrier liquid. The barrier ensures that there is no risk of dry run or leakage from the pumped medium into the atmosphere.

The Tapflo Group explains that its main design principles when developing the pump were to meet the needs of end-users, who were calling for a premium range centrifugal pump that features high efficiency, robust construction, ease of maintenance and an exceptional quality-price ratio. The pump also features low noise and vibration and is engineered to be even more robust than expected for normal operation, ensuring endurance and reliable performance.

Tapflo’s CTX pumps are available in Hygienic (CTX H) and Industrial (CTX I) options. The pumps are designed to be optimised for highly efficient performance over a wide range of operating conditions and industries. The Tapflo CTX is said to be particularly suited as a solution for dairy applications, such as the transfer of milk and yogurt. The pump is a primary choice for chemical and pharmaceutical applications, such as the transport of chemicals and ready-made products from storage tanks, containers and baths. The pump is also seen to be ideally suited to applications such as the transfer of ingredients and products, including edible oil, flavourants and juice, as well as various auxiliary operations such as the transfer of cleaning liquids and water.

The company further highlights that its Tapflo CTX H is a particularly hygienic and sanitised centrifugal pump because the shaft sealing is not in direct contact with any fluid. This makes it easy to clean and ensures that the transferred fluid does not become contaminated.
