Helping building designers optimise fan and pump performance in HVAC pump applications

Building designers looking to optimise fan and pump performance in HVAC applications can now take advantage of the new LTP-B Eco drive from SEW-EURODRIVE. While SEW-EURODRIVE does have general-purpose units for fans, pumps, and even conveyors, it saw a market gap for a unit specifically for the HVAC industry, National Sales Manager Norman Maleka comments.
“Building designers are always the first adopters of new technology such as this. We are quite active in the HVAC sector in Cape Town, for example, and realised that we had to rise to the challenge of meeting the needs of this specific sector.”
What distinguishes this purpose-built drive is the fact that different parameters can be set, such as for fan or pump control. “This allows our customers to realise the full energy-efficiency benefits of different functions,” Maleka explains.
In terms of a commercial building such as a hospital, traditional drives meant that fans had to operate continually at full speed. “With the improved functionality of the LTP-B Eco HVAC drive, facilities managers can now control a fan by only running it according to demand, for example. This represents a major advantage in terms of energy-saving, as it allows for total flow control,” Maleka highlights.
“Our philosophy is predicated on supplying innovative products with easy-to-use energy-efficient features that maximise time and cost savings for our clients,” SEW-EURODRIVE South Africa MD Raymond Obermeyer stresses.
SEW-EURODRIVE National Sales Manager Norman Maleka will host a live Twitter Chat at 10:00am on 23 October 2017 to answer all your questions about the new LTP-B Eco HVAC drive.
