Project Description
The Hebron project, located about 350 km off New Foundland and Labrador, currently contains three discovered fields – Hebron field, West Ben Nevis and Ben Nevis – and includes four significant discovery licences (SDLs), namely SDL 1006, SDL 1007,
SDL 1009 and SDL 1010.

Using a gravity-based structure, the Hebron platform will recover more than 700-million barrels of oil.

The platform is being designed for an oil production rate of 150 000 bbl/d.

Hebron will be developed using a stand-alone gravity-based structure, consisting of reinforced concrete designed to withstand sea ice, icebergs and meteorological and oceanographic conditions.

The base will be designed to store about 1.2-million barrels of crude oil and will support an integrated topsides deck that includes living quarters and facilities to perform drilling and production.

Value
The  capital cost of the project is estimated at $14-billion.

Duration
Production is expected to start in late 2017.

The Hebron field development was sanctioned by operator ExxonMobil and its coventurers at the end of December 2012.
