Global consultancy Hatch has attained a Level 1 broad-based black economic empowerment rating.

“We embrace diversity as the catalyst to grow the economy by rectifying the [prevention] of previously disadvantaged groups from gaining access to South Africa’s wealth [and addressing] income equality and skills development, which aligns with our corporate vision to passionately pursue a better world through positive change,” says Hatch Africa, Middle East and Europe regional MD Pierre Olivier.

The company began its transformation journey in 2001, exceeding targets year after year.

For example, to assist entrepreneurs, Hatch developed and refined its supplier development programme, for which it won an Absa Supplier Development Award.

Hatch has worked with 16 supplier development partner organisations, ten of which were black-women-owned, with five being youth-owned.

In the past 14 years, Hatch has invested R23.6-million into enterprise and supplier development programmes.

Additionally, Hatch has, over the same period, invested R307-million to fund skills development, provide 174 bursaries for students and hire 155 graduates.
