Fennovoima is reviewing its choices for a plant supplier. Direct negotiations with Japan’s Toshiba Corporation are under way. Toshiba’s proposal for Fennovoima’s Hanhikivi 1 nuclear power plant unit is a 1600 MW boiling water reactor EU-ABWR.
Fennovoima is also assessing whether a midsized plant option would be feasible for the company, as the company considers midsized reactors from Toshiba, Areva and Rosatom as potentially suitable alternatives.
