A new range of hammers and axes is now available from retailers throughout South Africa.

The tools have jacketed graphite handles and machine-curved, highly polished steel heads and claws. Made with the use of new forging technology, they are equipped with profiled, drop-forged and heat-treated heads.

The claw hammers have a sharpened claw aimed at maximising nail pulling force, a magnetic nail starter for one-hand operation and a graphite core which seeks to provide durability and resilience.

The graphite camping axe has a 1 588 g head and is equipped with a profiled, forged and heat-treated head to assist in delivering a powerful strike.

The tools are ergonomically designed for comfort, with the textured blue rubber grips intended for a firm hold while reducing shock, vibrations and slipping.

The Real Steel range was launched by Vermont Sales and is aimed at trade retailers, workshops, do-it-yourself enthusiasts and home owners.

A number of different hammer types are available, including:

  • Jacketed graphite double face mallet, 12 oz
  • Jacketed graphite curved claw hammer, 454 g
  • Jacketed graphite rip claw hammer, 566 g
  • Ball pein hammers
  • Jacketed graphite drilling sledgehammer, with cross striking head, 900 g and 1380 g options
  • Sledgehammer, 3.6 kg
  • Club hammer
  • Specialist hammers

In addition, customers have the option of selecting various weights, handle lengths and types, for axes and hammers.
