Project Description
The megaproject taps into Abu Dhabi’s Upper Jurassic and Arab formations, which is estimated to hold multiple trillions of cubic metres of recoverable gas.

The project is expected to produce more than 28-million cubic metres of gas a day, enough to provide electricity for two-million homes.

The project could meet 20% of the UAE’s gas demand by the second half of the next decade.

The infrastructure requirements for the Hail and Ghasha gasfields include a minimum of 11 offshore artificial islands to be designed and constructed.

Latest Developments
Aker Solutions has been awarded the contract to deliver umbilicals for the Dalmas gas development project.

The value contract is valued at about NKr700-million. The scope includes four steel tube umbilicals totalling more than 100 km. The umbilical system will provide power supply, communication services and chemical injection fluids. It will connect the subsea equipment to three new wellhead platforms and link the topside equipment located on the offshore control platform to equipment located onshore.

Work on the project will start immediately and be finalised in the first quarter 2021.
