The project will be located in San Patricio County, Texas, in the US.

Gulf Coast Growth Ventures, comprising ExxonMobil and SABIC.

Project Description
The project entails the construction of a chemicals facility comprising a 1.8-million-ton ethane steam cracker, two polyethylene units and a monoethylene glycol unit.

The facility will produce materials used in the manufacturing of various consumer products, including automotive coolants, packaging, agricultural film and building, construction materials and clothing.

Potential Job Creation
Six thousand jobs are expected to be created during construction and more than 600 permanent jobs.

Not stated.

Planned Start/End Date
Construction will begin in the third quarter of 2019 and startup is expected by 2022.

Latest Developments
Gulf Coast Growth Ventures received final environmental regulatory approval for the project in June 2019.

The Wood Group, McDermott & Turner Industries Group, Chiyoda & Kiewit and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries & Zachry Group (construction contract).
