Project Description
The project involves the construction of a waste-to-hydrogen facility, with a production capacity of 300 000 t/y of green hydrogen, consequently enabling the power plant to dispose of four-million tons of municipal solid waste a year.
The hydrogen will be hauled by a fleet of hydrogen-powered waste trucks.

SCZONE signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with H2 Industries in June 2022 to build the proposed green hydrogen plant.
The MoU is not mandatory until H2 Industries completes all the feasibility studies required to advance the project, with the final contract expected to coincide with the Conference of the Parties 27, or COP 27, in November this year.
