PERTH (miningweekly.com) – ASX-listed junior Gold Road has pushed back the completion of a prefeasibility study (PFS) on its Central Bore gold project, in Western Australia, as market conditions continued to deteriorate.

The study was investigating the potential for a 100 000 t/y standalone modular operation to treat ore at the Central Bore project.

The company told shareholders in a letter that the PFS had initially been slated for completion by the end of June this year, but added that given the market flux since April, and what the board believed was the start of mining cost reductions, the study had now been pushed back to allow mining costs to settle.

“From a technical perspective, the prefeasibility study is progressing well,” said chairperson Ian Murray.

The Central Bore project was estimated to host some 201 100 oz of gold, with some 112 200 oz falling within the high-grade Imperial shoot, which remained open at depth.
