Project Description
The project entails the construction of Africa’s first dedicated gigawatt battery storage manufacturing plant.

The new 12 500 m2 light industrial plant will include a 10 250 m2 warehouse, 2 200 m2 of office space and a 250 m2 showroom.

Solar MD currently produces about 120 batteries a year, with plans to increase manufacturing up to 300 batteries a year once the new facility is operational.

Potential Job Creation
Solar MD’s staff component will increase from 120 employees to 240 with the construction of the plant.

The facility is expected to be completed and ready for occupation by mid-2024.
