Flue gas desulphurisation plant project, Poland
Name and Location
Flue gas desulphurisation (FGD) plant project, Poland.
Client
Veolia Energia Łódź.
Project Description
The project entails the construction of a complete FGD plant, which will treat the flue gases of five steam boilers at stations
K1, K2, K3, K6 and K9, at Veolia’s combined heat and power Plant 3 (CHP3).
The FGD plant, on completion, is expected to keep sulphur dioxide and dust concentration in flue gas below 200 mg/Nm3 and 20 mg/Nm3 respectively, thus complying fully with the European Directive regulating industrial emissions. This will enable the CHP3 to continue operating all steam boilers beyond 2016 while significantly reducing the plant’s environmental footprint in the Lodz region.
