The proposed Florida wind farm is located 100 km north of Uruguay’s capital, Montevideo, and is one of the first major wind farm projects in the country.
The project will feature twenty-one 2.4 MW wind turbines on 91 m towers for an estimated capacity of 50 MW.

The wind farm has a capital value of $128-million.
Duration
The wind farm is scheduled for commissioning by the end of 2013.

Mott MacDonald has been appointed to carry out technical, environmental and social due diligence on the wind farm.
The consultancy will also provide construction and operational monitoring on the project.
