Flooring specification advice at the touch of a button
Specifying flooring is a vital part of any project and deciding on the product best suited to a particular project can be daunting. There are a vast number of flooring options and respective applications available and specification considerations could include flooring type and supplementary products, surface preparation, installation, maintenance and accessibility.
A new online tool aims to make the specifier’s job a little easier by offering simple and accessible advice. The Online Advisor platform is available on the Polyflor South Africa website.
The tool is designed to give expert guidance on areas such as selecting the correct product for the required application and choosing the most suitable product from the company’s extensive range of vinyl products.
Polyflor emphasises that vinyl flooring has a multitude of benefits and performance characteristics, with a wide array of design options. The company explains that its objective of partnering with clients to enable them to make informed decisions, is what prompted it to develop the new online advice platform.
It asserts that the Online Advisor tool has everything that would be required to specify vinyl for a project, even when working offsite without access to large product libraries. It also provides a learning platform for less experienced specifiers, offering information about various aspects of vinyl products and vinyl applications.
The platform is designed to be user-friendly and easy to navigate, allowing users to browse according to categories such as:
- Industry
- Functional area
- Type of flooring
- Colour
- Design
- Price range
The online tool guides the user through the process by means of a series of steps and questions based on the selected criteria. An expert product recommendation is then emailed directly to the user. Users can return to the project in order to change criteria and compare options or log a new project and select different criteria.
In addition, an Online Advisor video guide provides a step-by-step demonstration of how to use the tool.
