First Quantum launches $1bn debt offering

Base metals miner First Quantum Minerals has launched $1-billion of senior unsecured notes due in 2027.

The company will use the gross proceeds from the sale of the notes to repay the $575-million principal amount under its existing revolving credit facility and for the redemption of $425-million aggregate principal amount senior notes due 2022.

Interest on the notes will be paid semi-annually.
