Junior tungsten/tin miner W Resources has fed the first upgraded jigged ore to the new concentrator plant at its La Parrilla tungsten mine in Spain, with the project now in its final phases of commissioning.

The first ore was fed to the new concentrator plant on October 17.

Over the last month, an extensive programme of automated systems installation and commissioning was completed on the plant. Commissioning is also complete on the spiral and shaking table plants and the concentrator thickener.

Commissioning of the flotation, magnetic and electrostatic separators is under way and allmineral Aufbereitungstechnik has advised that it should be completed in the coming weeks.

"Very significant progress has been made over the last month in commissioning the new La Parrilla concentrator plant, with commissioning of the final phase nearing completion. It is great to see the concentrator plant start-up on ore for production at our flagship project.

“Upstream the mine and plant are ready and a stockpile of upgraded jigged feed is in place,” said W chairperson Michael Masterman.
