The Hauschild SpeedMixer is able to mix homogeneous multi-material compounds in minutes
A speed mixer that uses dual asymmetric centrifuge (DAC) technology is able to produce a range of multi-material compounds such as liquids, high-viscosity pastes and powders within minutes.
The special feature of the mixing principle used in the Hauschild SpeedMixer is the dual rotation of the mixing vessel. The combination of centrifugal forces working on different planes enables an efficient mixing process and offers a homogeneous result without the use of mixing blades.
The company asserts that degassing of almost 100% is achieved during the mixing process, with the elimination of even the smallest micro-bubbles, dispensing with additional degassing cycles. The Hauschild SpeedMixer featuring vacuum technology is available for complete air extraction. Programmable cycles are said to guarantee that every batch represents an identical, reproducible mixture, thereby speeding up laboratory development processes.
The centrifugal mixer is designed to be able to mix a range of different liquids and pastes, pastes with powders, one powder with another and various combinations of liquids and powders, or materials with different chemical and physical properties. Materials such as epoxy resins, lacquers, paints, silicones, oils, gels, emulsions, creams, epoxides, powders and urethanes are some of the products that can be mixed.
The machine mixes in disposable vessels without blades, which aims to eliminate the need for cleaning or the additional use of chemicals. The dimensions of the mixing vessels and mixing buckets range from a few grams up to ten kilograms and from a few millilitres to a nominal capacity of up to sixteen litres, depending on the size of the batch.
