Project Description
The infrastructure project is the first green finance initiative in the US specifically designed for climate change adaptation.
The project will divert the Red river away from population centres, which are regularly affected by flooding, and includes the construction, operation and maintenance of a 48 km flood prevention channel over 29 years.
In addition to the construction of the channel, the project includes associated infrastructure diversions such as bridges, railway crossings and aqueducts.
