Global OEM to attend indaba

HENDRIK SCHOEMAN Mining Indaba provides DCD Group with a tremendous opportunity to market its services directly to the end-user
Global manufacturing and engineering company DCD Group, which exhibited at both the 2012 and 2013 Investing in African Mining Indaba, is sending a delegation to the 2014 event from February 3 to 6 to display its commitment towards supporting local original-equipment manufacturers, while promoting the importance of localisation.
DCD Group energy sector marketing manager Hendrik Schoeman tells Mining Weekly that the company attends the Mining Indaba, held at the Cape Town International Convention Centre, to create awareness of the group’s capacity and capabilities in manufacturing for the mining sector locally and internationally.
Further, he says the indaba is an important event for the African mining industry, as it assists local companies in creating awareness of changes they face in the mining environment, while also offering oppor-tunities for exploration companies and mine owners to showcase their mining investment opportunities to potential investors.
He adds DCD Group’s Mining Indaba delegation will attend the event to attain a first-hand account of forecasts for the local and international mining industries by prominent mining industry analysts and other stakeholders.
“We are also looking forward to obtaining a better understanding of the individual commodities and their performance prospects. We hope that the indaba presen- ters forecast a major recovery for the inter-national mining market in 2014,” Schoeman concludes.
