Engen’ enduring promise ‘With us you are Number One” has always placed the customer at the very heart of its business. It is what inspires South Africa’s favourite* petrol station brand to invest great effort into remaining an attractive and convenient destination for motorists and shoppers.

This sees Engen continually reinventing the way it does business, to ensure it delivers smarter solutions and offers differentiated products that enrich the lives of its valued customers.

Engen’s partnership with global transport and logistics firm DSV is a case in point, with 257 Engen retail services stations across South Africa now offering DSV lockers and associated courier services.

DSV lockers allow for a cost-effective, convenient, and safe way to send and receive parcels – which you can do 24/7 while you fill up with petrol and buy your everyday necessities from Quickshop.

“Engen continuously looks for ways to improve our customer experience through innovation and pioneering convenience services across our industry leading 1 000+ service stations network, with our exclusive partnership with DSV being one such service,” comments Enoch Hermanus, Engen’s acting General Manager: Retail.

Launched in 2014, the DSV Locker meets first and final mile needs in an industry fuelled by the growth of direct to consumer, staff, or supplier requirements.

Delivery options include physical address to-locker, and locker-to-physical address delivery services, anywhere in South Africa.

With a courier and packaging solution starting from R55 (incl. VAT), this cost-effective service appeals to a wide range of customers, including small home businesses, students, residents, banks, and retailers.

How does it work?

  • Visit your nearest Engen with a DSV Locker service
  • Purchase packaging related to the size of your parcel
  • Complete the waybill and pay at the cashier
  • Follow the prompts of the smart locker and place the parcel inside
  • Track your parcel online all the way to delivery

Continues Hermanus: “Some exciting plans lie ahead, including our new Locker-to-Locker service currently being piloted at 10 of our sites, which enables customers to send a parcel from one locker to another locker.

“Recipients can collect the parcel at their convenience from a locker, rather than from a home or office delivery.”

Customers can use the Engen 1app to find their nearest Engen with a DSV Locker.

Engen 1app can be downloaded from Apple’s App Store and Google Play respectively.

While Engen continues to have the largest service station footprint in South Africa, to remain relevant in an ever-evolving market, the company consistently assesses and invigorates its product offerings, including its convenience offerings, quality fuels and food range to align with what customers want.

“This ensures that visits to an Engen forecourt are exciting and uplifting experiences,” concludes Hermanus.
